One of the biggest mindset shifts for CPA candidates is realizing this:

Getting questions wrong is not proof you’re failing.

It’s part of the learning process.

A lot of people avoid MCQs because they don’t like seeing low scores early on.

But struggling through questions forces your brain to:

  • retrieve information

  • identify weak areas

  • build pattern recognition

  • learn how the exam asks things

That process is uncomfortable…
…but it’s also incredibly effective.

You do not need to “master” a chapter before doing practice questions.

In fact, waiting too long to practice is often one of the biggest mistakes candidates make.

The CPA exam rewards application and recall much more than passive review.

So if your scores aren’t where you want them yet:
good.

That means you’re exposing weaknesses now instead of on exam day.

Keep practicing.
