A lot of CPA candidates think they’re stuck because they’re not disciplined enough.
That’s almost never the real problem.
The real problem is this:
You’re putting in time,
but you don’t actually know if it’s working.
You finish a study session and think:
“Was that productive… or did I just waste 2 hours?”
You do MCQs…
…but you’ve already seen half of them before.
So when you get them right, you don’t even trust it.
That’s one of the worst feelings during CPA prep:
You’re working hard — but you don’t feel progress.
And when you don’t feel progress, motivation dies fast.
Here’s the shift most people never make:
Stop measuring effort.
Start measuring feedback.
Every study session should answer:
→ What am I weak at?
→ Did I improve today?
→ What should I focus on next?
If you can’t answer those 3 questions…
You’re guessing.
And guessing is what keeps people stuck for months.
This week, pay attention to that.
Not how long you studied —
but what you actually learned.
